| DECEMBER 31st, 2007 Yes, it's been a while since our last update! As you know, one of my long-time activities has been to serve as the Secretary of KVE Inc, the organisation involved with the presentation and administration of the Corowa Event every year. As any who have been keeping abreast of developments on MLU's Corowa Event Subforum will know, there has been some recent confusion over the administrative side of KVE, which has taken up most of my spare time since our last update here. |
|
| Fortunately this has now been settled, and we can now get back to work on both the Corowa '08 Event and Corowa30 Project! Now, though, they are going to be linked, as the new KVE Administration has elected to support a permanent new Corowa Event website. Called corowaswim-in.org and hosted, designed and implemented by Geoff Winnington-Ball, this new site will take over some of the information sections previously planned for this site, along with a whole lot more. | |
| Please stay tuned to both Corowaswim-in.org and Corowa30.org for announcements regarding the transition as we move into the New Year. Thank you for your patience; we trust you had a great Christmas and wish you a very Happy New Year for 2008! | |

| OCTOBER 20th, 2007 LAUNCH DAY! We've made it "official"! After weeks of planning layouts, writing and programming, Corowa30.org has finally been officially announced on the MLU Forum. We decided we have enough online here to 'go public' with our venture and reach the hundreds of Australians, New Zealanders and others all over the world who frequent MLU and who have an abiding interest in the Corowa Event. Rather than describe it here, please join us on our new Corowa30 Forum which MLU owner and Corowa30 sponsor Geoff Winnington-Ball has created just for us; here we can discuss anything to do with Project 30, talk about old Corowa Events, or just say hello! |
|
| Having taken this great step, we have to admit that there is still plenty to do on the site, and as we add more to each section and subsection, we'll note it here and on our Corowa30 Forum accordingly. Your comments and suggestions will be greatly appreciated! | |

OCTOBER 15th, 2007 Despite the time since my last update here, we have been busy! We have filled out the full text of the Event Photos page, complete with links to the two main subsections of the Gallery: the year-by-year Gallery introductory page and the Rare Vehicles introductory page. |
|
| Given the Gallery itself is some time away from being completed, primarily due to work-related commitments, we have decided to go ahead with the Rare Vehicles section. Here we select and highlight some of the rare, unusual and unique vehicles seen at Corowa on a regular basis. Our selections are very much subjective, representing only a few of those we have found truly fascinating, but by no means do they diminish the significance of the many other fine vehicles which regularly grace our Event. | |
| Have a look at the rare vehicles page and see what you think! If you know of a vehicle which may be fitting to include in this subsection, please contact us with details of your suggestion; there are no guarantees it will join those already there, but we'd love to hear your opinion! | |

SEPTEMBER 30th, 2007 We have completed the main page of our History Section, but still have yet to add a second page with some information on the town of Corowa itself; the page is at the other end of the link at the bottom, but has yet to be scripted. That will come soon! |
|
| Since our last update, we've been doing quite a bit of work behind the scenes for both short and long-term. Some of it you'll see directly, some is just necessary infrastructure, and more yet involves continuing research for materials; as time allows, we're presently sorting through written accounts and photographs of the various shows by year. | |
| As we said in the History Section, any history of a place, event or time should be the story of those who were there. To that end, we have been assembling 'after-action' reports of the various Corowa Events year by year; we have many, some more detailed than others, but want to stress that we want all of the perspectives we can gather! We will extract excepts from these 'reports' for use on the website here, with the rest going into the book - and we need your help. | |
|
For reports, accounts or anecdotes, we want yours from all years, but especially these: |
|
| The same goes for photos. We've been cataloguing those as well, but this has been more difficult to classify by year in some cases, although we're making headway. It seems we have lots of photos from latter years - could always use more, of course - but pictures from the earlier years are more scarce. Do you have any you could share with us? If so, please contact us and we'll arrange to get them from you! | |
| Back to work for us now... thanks as always, and as always, please don't hesitate to get in touch with your comments and suggestions. | |

SEPTEMBER 19th, 2007 A week and a bit later, we've now got all main pages up on the site, albeit some not yet populated with the information they will contain. The unique contents to be presented within each section demand a slightly different format in each application for maximum clarity and effectiveness, thus our job is really in two parts. |
|
| The first, of course, is the basic layout of each page, together with accompanying graphics; generally, each of those must be first selected and/or created to add either relevance to the subject or simply colour to the page, then formatted to fit the slot it's destined for and written into the code accordingly. | |
| The second part is reviewing the data we wish to present in order to establish the optimum format for that particular page, then reformatting the page accordingly. Only at that point can we write the introduction and start inputting the information (as much as we have or as much as is ready to go) and upload the whole thing to the server. | |
| Inevitably, at that point one of us catches something slightly out of place, and then the tweaking begins; with that done, we move onto the next page to repeat the process! All this time behind the scenes, research, outlines and some actual writing is being done and filed for future use, both here and ultimately in the book. | |
| All I can say about all of this is that it's been a real eye-opener throughout, the daily challenges refreshing to say the least - this could very easily become a full-time occupation were that possible! | |
| A note regarding the unfinished pages - rather than explain here, to start with and as soon as possible, each page will have a short introduction explaining what will ultimately appear there. We will endeavour to complete each in turn thereafter. | |
| Thank you for following along with us, and thank you so much for the support you've shown me throughout the process - it is truly appreciated. Please continue to work with us to make Project 30 the finest tribute to Corowa and its people as it can possibly be! | |

SEPTEMBER 10th, 2007 For several weeks now, we have been working like slaves to get the basic layout and design of this new website configured to our satisfaction! With enough on each page to explain what is going to be there from this point forward, we can finally 'officially' release COROWA30.ORG to all of you who over the last three decades have made Corowa the event to attend! |
|
| How we're doing this is relatively straight-forward. Each link you click will take you to that topic page. To start with, what you'll see on that page is a summary of everything we intend to input there over the next two years; as time goes on, we'll be adding more and more to all of these pages, and will make a note of each substantial addition in this News 30 section. | |
| Some of the topics we'll be presenting will inevitably expand beyond that topic's introductory page, simply because there is so much to show you. Event Reports and Event Photos, for instance, will be organised by year from 1980 until today; in cases like those, the introductory pages will have separate links to take you to their subsets in turn. When you've finished there, you will be able to jump back to the introduction and hence anywhere else on COROWA30.ORG. | |
| If you wish to know when each section update is implemented, please take five minutes to email me and I'll add your name to our mailing list - you'll be the first to know when we've got something new to show you! Just click here to have your name included, and we'll be in touch shortly! | |
| That's all for the moment... it's time for us to get back to work. Thanks for reading COROWA30.ORG, and we hope to see you back again soon! Thanks for your interest and support, | |
