Behind the Scenes at Corowa30 Just what is 'Corowa30'? As outlined on our Home page, the NSW-based ex-military vehicle event now universally known as the 'Corowa Swim-In' is fast approaching the anniversary of thirty consecutive years of fellowship and fun, growing into the largest show of its type in the Southern Hemispere and gathering worldwide attention among historians and enthusiasts alike. (for a detailed account chronicling the evolution of the Corowa event, please click on our Corowa History link on the right) |

| Jan Thompson has had the good fortune to have been associated with Corowa in some fashion or another since the beginning. She has gone from being a wide-eyed child at her father's side in the early eighties to one of the chief driving forces behind the organisation of the event since the nineties. With Corowa's 30th year of operations fast approaching, she has embarked upon a challenging endeavour to capture the essence of Corowa through the eyes of those who have been a part of it since its inception and down through three decades. | |

| In order to accomplish this audacious task, Jan has enlisted the help of a legion of interested parties, from participants to guests to organisations which support, and in some cases, participate, in this annual show. Their photographs and memories recorded during and after each show constitute a priceless resource of 30 years of perspective of not just the event itself, but also of the evolution of the ex-military vehicle community in the Southern Hemisphere; many have freely offered Jan the use of their previously written accounts and photographic archives for this project. (these individuals, clubs and organisations are acknowledged separately In our Sponsors and Contributors sections.) | |
| The culmination of her efforts will be in two parts (as projected right now); the first, of course, is this website, which will be an on-going endeavour well past Corowa's 30th anniversary. The second part will be a printed publication detailing these recollections, stories and personal accounts of shows from year to year since the beginning, in conjunction with a wealth of supporting photographs. | |
| The Corowa30 website you see before you was created not only to support Jan's ambitious objective, but to celebrate the existence, and the people, of Australia's greatest military vehicle event. If you'd like to help capture history by adding to the record any impressions you may have of shows past and present, please don't hesitate to contact Jan through our Contact Us page! She will be delighted to speak with you. | |
| Thanks, we hope to hear from you soon! | |
